Software Development

Today we learned all about what a software developer does, from websites to apps to games. Izzy Moriguchi, a software engineer, told us about her journey from Japan to California to Philly area and how she came to be a software designer. Turns out, she wasn't even studying math prior to pursuing this career. She was studying history!

The activity was about coding. First, the kids used a binary code to reveal a picture, which turned out to be a house. Then they wrote their names in binary code. Another successful session of PhillyGEMS!
